Kane Veterinary Supplies is a Canadian wholesale distributor and manufacturer agent, providing excellence in distribution of the highest quality, cutting edge, value-laden products to the pet retail, veterinary, agricultural, and equine markets across Canada.

Location: Cambridge, Ontario

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support to computer users experiencing difficulties with computer hardware, computer applications, technical equipment, and communications software. They will monitor and maintain the organization’s computer systems, networks, websites, and information systems, and compile and analyze various reports.

Essential Functions:

Installation and configuration of the Company’s computer hardware, operating systems and applications.

Communicate electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties to determine and document problems experienced.

Consult user guides, technical manuals, and other documents to research implementation solutions and/or contact a third-party technician when necessary.

Reproduce, diagnose, and resolve technical problems encountered by others.

Diagnosing and solving hardware and software faults.

Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties.

Testing and evaluating new technology.

Works with databases to compile and analyze reports requested by managers and others.

Operate database management systems to analyze data and perform data mining analysis.

Conduct research and provide advice to informatics professionals regarding the selection, application, and implementation of database management tools.

Additional functions

In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.

Collect and document user requirements.

Research and document, data collection and administration policy, data access rules and security.

Prepare marketing and promotional material.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess one or more of the following:

Technical college degree or diploma combined with work experience in a related field.

Computer literate in multiple programs including Microsoft 365 applications.

Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new technology quickly.

Interpersonal and communication skills

Has strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills, demonstrates sound judgment and excellent decision-making abilities, and shows a great attention to detail.

Must have a proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge using Power BI

Knowledge of supply chain distribution would be an asset.

Social Media experience would be an asset.

Solid proficiency in math would be an asset.
