Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating construction costs for a wide range of projects, from small-scale renovations to large commercial builds. The Mid-Level Estimator will work closely with the project managers and clients to provide detailed and timely cost estimates while ensuring that projects remain within budget.
District Overview
Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty!

Responsibilities
• Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required for each project
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment required for each project
• Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals and cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs
• Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Work collaboratively with project managers and clients to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials and methods
• Monitor project costs and provide ongoing cost analysis to ensure that projects remain within budget
• Participate in project meetings and provide ongoing support to project managers and clients as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software programs
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor costs

• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Base Compensation: $117,000/yr - $122,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
