Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Purchasing Officer of the IDEMIA Public Security Division and to the North America Public Security Division, the Purchasing Senior Director has the following main responsibilities:

Drive transformation of Purchasing in the USA (process, communication, purchasing coverage, and strategies) and represent Purchasing with the North America Business Unit leadership team.

Participate in management meetings and is the main purchasing interface with business unit and functions heads.

Ensure process alignment and purchasing integration into customer program pre and post sales.

Increase purchasing coverage to 90% of addressable spend by developing category strategies and strategic sourcing plan in coordination with global purchasing category teams.

Is accountable for consistent and seamless deployment of sourcing activities as well as purchasing related tools and processes.

Manage IDEMIA’s supply base in North America in coordination with IDEMIA global category teams.

220m$ in addressable spend with a mix of Indirect and Direct suppliers.

Ensure structured sourcing, negotiation, and contracting methodology is followed by the team, in compliance with IDEMIA’s procedures.

Select and communicate approved vendors for main categories.

Build savings plan, track savings, and validate results with Finance to meet or exceed savings target.

Partner with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to assess supply risk along with mitigation plan.

Influence and support design to cost efforts and lead supplier selection for new products development to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Direct management for the different indirect, equipment, IT, and systems purchasing resources based in the USA.

Assess talent and organize team to increase purchasing control and impact.

Implement development plan and rotation as required.

Coach team members on critical projects and negotiation.

Spread business partnership attitude with the team.

Reduce, eliminate, and/or transfer non purchasing activities.

Spread new way of working e.g., e-sourcing, automation.

Cascade purchasing KPI (e.g., savings, compliance) with teams across the region.

Ensure accurate and on-time reporting by the team.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience

US citizenship (dual not allowed).

The candidate must have a minimum of 10-15 years of work experience in purchasing, ideally with a broad base of categories experience including strong expertise with IT/digital, indirect, and supply chain and high complexity / low volume product Hardware.

Experience in program purchasing, supporting sales team for bid submission and program team for post-sale execution.

Strong commercial and business mindset.

Proven successful experience in engaging and managing multiple internal stakeholders with a business partnership attitude.

Proven experience in coaching and upskilling purchasing teams.

Experience in P2P process management and optimization.

Experience working in a global organization.

Experience in US federal regulation for supplier procurement would be a plus.

Education and Competencies

Degree preferably in business administration, economics, and/or finance.

Broad analytical, financial, and strategic planning skills.

Excellent presentation skills and ability to interact at C-level.

Well structured, organized, and effective at time management.
