What You'll Do:

Principal has a great opportunity within our Sales Compensation Technology team which is housed within of our Benefits and Protection business segment! We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who will thrive in a highly collaborative product centric environment. In this position you will work closely with your technology team peers, business partners and product owner to deliver value focusing primarily on customer relationship management and customer service representative experience capabilities supporting our operations staff and Distribution Partners. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with Salesforce and enjoys working with this platform but also experience with other distributed technologies such as AWS/cloud technology, front-end development tools/frameworks or service oriented/event driven architectures.

Here in Sales Compensation Technology we serve a critical role in the onboarding, servicing, payment and reporting functions for our Distribution Partners all in close collaboration with our internal business partners. Your day will be filled with:

Collaborating with your team and our business to determine how to make our software solutions better with every iteration.

Solving interesting and complex problems to create a positive customer experience.

Providing technical leadership and guidance within and outside of your direct team.

Building software leveraging Salesforce that improves internal and external customer experience.

Experimenting with new tools and practices to deliver business value in an Agile organization.

Using data to improve decision making.

Continuously improving both the systems you are working on and your personal skills.

Who You Are:

Associate or bachelor’s degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or equivalent experience.

2+ years of professional Salesforce development experience is required including administration functions and ideally Apex development or exposure.

Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.

Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Must have the desire to learn new technology and continuously grow.

Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners.

Strongest candidates will have exposure to many of the bullets below.

Additional preferred skills/experience:

Current and maintained Salesforce certifications in admin, developer or architecture tracks.

Proficiency in Java or JavaScript or other distributed/OO languages.

Familiarity with cloud development and integrations. We use AWS, but open to other experience.

Strong understanding and preference for automated testing.

Exposure to Service Oriented/Event based architectures.

Development experience leveraging other distributed tools beyond Salesforce (Java/Typescript, other OO languages etc.).

Salary Range Information:

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range:

$75000 - $(phone number removed) / year

Time Off Program:

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
