Department Summary:

Surpassing network limitations of the past, our Wireless Deployment organization is building the country’s first cloud-native, standalone 5G wireless network. This is the foundation of a connected world flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of today and the future.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Lead RF design for pioneering standalone 5G broadband network in the US.

Optimize end-to-end RF design, including propagation modeling and Macro Cell deployment.

Determine equipment and power configurations for network efficiency.

Collaborate with eNB/RAN and UE teams to modify RF link budgets for site-specific requirements.

Evaluate and select site candidates, conduct site walks, and assess suitability.

Establish and update design criteria, link budgets, and traffic analysis for network enhancement.

Monitor and enhance network KPIs and performance in collaboration with RF and Operations Management.

Skills, Experience and Requirements:

As a successful RF Engineer II, you will have:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, plus 5 years of LTE/5G RF Design experience.

5+ years of experience supporting Site Acquisition and Site Construction teams with RF support.

Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of 4G/5G and NR theory, with expertise in Macro and small cell RF design.

Proficient in optimizing RF designs and monitoring network performance for 3GPP technologies.

Experience using propagation/planning tools like Planet or Atoll, including model tuning.

Skilled in drive test data post-processing, frequency planning, and interference analysis.

Proficiency in database tools (SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle), development languages (Python, PHP, JavaScript), and data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
