QC Supervisor

General Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and execution of the Quality Control functions at each US manufacturing location. The position is responsible for managing a staff of QC Inspectors assigned to each manufacturing facility and ensuring the overall quality of all manufactured products for the commercial and nuclear industries. Work in partnership with the Manufacturing and Engineering Supervisory personnel and management team to support the quality goals for the enterprise that meets both internal and external customer expectations

Essential Job Functions

Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company and customer safety and quality standards, best practices, and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns.

Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM’s Core Values.

Maintains direct supervision of all Quality Control Inspectors at each of the US manufacturing facilities. Provide leadership and mentoring as needed in the development of the QC group work ethic, job skills, and effective communication with manufacturing supervision. Evaluate and coach each Inspector consistently with the goal of continuous improvement.

Collaborates with facility management and customers’ representatives to ensure customer satisfaction through the analysis and reporting of customer satisfaction data (i.e., customer surveys); identifies, tracks and promotes the resolution of customer issues; provides guidance to facility management for such resolution.

Communicates and interacts with customers and third parties on all quality issues and other issues as designated by facility management in a manner that benefits the professional reputation of the company.

Approves weekly time entry for QC personnel at each facility. Manage OT as needed to maintain cost controls to the extent possible without negatively affecting schedule or output of goods

Centralizes and submits all purchasing needs for all QC department locations.

Monitors Nonconformance Reporting process. Makes sure that incidents are properly investigated and that corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively as needed within the QC group.

Assures that all required Quality Control inspection processes at all locations is executed properly on a consistent basis and intervening as necessary to correct deficiencies found in the QC group processes or personnel.

Experience Requirements

Requires High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school or college degree preferred.

Prefer 5+ years of inspection experience in a shop manufacturing setting

Ability to read and interpret Quality Control documents, codes, standards, and customer specifications

Good working knowledge of blueprint reading and engineered drawings

Good understanding of Nondestructive Testing techniques (previous certification preferred), heat treating, and NDE and Heat Treat specifications.

Good skills in the use of Tape Measure, Calipers, and Micrometers. Should exhibit sufficient manual dexterity to handle and manipulate delicate parts and measuring instruments.

Travel Requirements: 0-25%

Work Conditions

Position is based out of a branch or site location.

Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere

Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel

Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels

Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection

May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes

May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds

Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties

Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively

Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to investigations

Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties

Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells

Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
