Job Description:

McDonald’s is seeking a Supervisor of Federal Government Relations to join its Federal Government Relations team in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will assist the team in advancing McDonald’s business and reputational objectives with federal government officials and agencies, diplomats, and internal and external stakeholders across multiple relevant issue areas that impact the McDonald’s System. The ideal candidate will possess strong political acumen, analytical, project management, written and verbal communications, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

+ Develop, catalogue, and manage written internal and external materials including policy analysis, one-pagers, talking points, power point decks, stakeholder updates/emails, newsletters, trainings, etc.

+ Assist with executing programs and events to engage government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and third-part stakeholders.

+ Develop, update and maintain tools to track and measure projects, engagements, relationships and progress.

+ Develop and maintain an understanding of McDonald’s business and policy priority issues.

+ Timely monitor, track, analyze and report on policy developments and trends.

Qualifications:

+ BA/BS degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Affairs, or related field.

+ 3-5 years of relevant experience in government and/or private sector.

+ Strong interest in federal and diplomatic relations, with a desire to grow within the field.

+ Ultimate team player with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, and political acumen.

+ Strong project management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under tight deadlines.

+ Attention to detail with analytical and strategic mindset.

+ Experience and interest in grassroots engagement and political communications is a plus.
