Job Summary

Assist with the preparation of financial and investor reporting for Barings Core European Property Fund (BECPF).

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting and financial

Supervision of quarterly fund reporting cycles, including co-ordination and review of quarterly NAVs (IFRS and INREV), US GAAP reconciliations and payment of distributions;

Assistance with annual financial / tax reporting process, including audit of the Fund;

Preparation of actuals vs budget reporting;

Preparation of Fund performance reporting;

Preparation and review of quarterly reports;

Ad hoc internal and external reporting from a wide range of stakeholders.

Treasury

Maintenance of cashflow model in conjunction with the Fund Analyst and Fund Controller

Together with Fund Controller, management of funds flows, including:

Funding opex and capex;

Funding new acquisitions;

Repatriation of excess/trapped cash;

Approval of expenses;

Cash management; and

FX

Investor communicatio

Preparation of investor questionnaires and ad-hoc financial analysis requested by investors

Support Investor Relations and Fund Analyst through timely and accurate responses to ad hoc queries

Assisting with the preparation of investor RFPs

Debt raising and management

Preparation of periodic of debt covenant reporting;

Management of interest payments, draw-downs and repayments;

Dealing with any ad hoc bank queries

Operations

Assist the Fund Controllers with Real Estate transactions

Deliver process and control improvements through better use of data, excel, models and systems.

Assist with the design and delivery of new systems

Oversight of company secretarial function, working closely with the Fund’s advisors and administrators to incorporate / liquidate entities;

Management of fund corporate costs;

Working closely with Fund Analysts to prepare and maintain business plans (budgets);

Liaise with various internal stakeholders including Fund Managers, Tax, Legal, Product Management and Finance reporting lines.

The Fund Accountant may also be required to assist with other projects as required by Barings from time to time.

Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy.

Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Eager to learn and understand the broader technical aspects and commercial objectives of the Fund.

System minded including advanced excel.

Organised, self-starter capable of operating with little oversight.

Ability to challenge and improve existing process.

Sound written and verbal communication skills.

2 years+ experience in commercial Real Estate, Luxembourg Fund structures and/or IFRS Real Estate Standards.

CA Part qualified / qualified.
