ABOUT JOB

Designation: Professor cum HoD for Applied Science & Humanities ( Maths/Physics/Chemistry)

Job Purpose & Role: To lead, manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest standards of excellence in all its activities.

Job Expectation:

A. Leadership & Management

Responsible and accountable forsetting and advancing the academic strategy of the department in line with Faculty and Institute’s strategic plans and direction

People management – To ensure that Institute’s policies and procedures are implemented

To seek opportunities for collaboration for working in multidisciplinary areas with other dept.’s

To work in complete alignment having collaborative approach with other departments.

To promote and represent the Institute both internally and externally

To ensure discipline and welfare of the students

B. Responsibility for Teaching and Students

To fulfill Institute’s responsibility concerning students in respect of instruction, progress and examination

Meaningfully engaging students by frequent visits to class rooms and laboratories.

Conduct of courses as per syllabus and ordinance issued by the AKTU (Abdul Kalam Technical University) from time to time.

To raise the quality teaching-learning process leading to increase in result and meritorious positions in the AKTU University

Planning and conduct of seminars & workshops for students.

To provide opportunity to students to work on live projects

To connect industry with academia for providing hands on experience leading to skill development of students

C. Development of Academic/Research standing & Quality Assurance

To continue to develop one’s position as a leading researcher; including publication, external funding and the pursuit of other relevant indicators of standing in the filed

Ensure Quality (NBA, ISO, NAAC) and innovative education to students by continuous monitoring of faculty, books, and journals, teaching aids, Laboratory facilities and faculty development programmes and getting feedback from students through formal and informal interactions.

Guiding faculty members to prepare / maintain lesson plans, lecture notes, model question papers, attendance register, laboratory manual etc.

Evaluating and monitoring of the performance and behavior of the faculty members.

Conduct of faculty development programmes – skill enhancement of faculty & staff

To participate in getting the Institution top Ranking as per the accreditation process – NIRF / NAAC as per AICTE guidelines

Knowledge and implementation of NEP (New Education Policy) for HEI’s (Higher Education Institution’s) in line with the vision of an organisation.

F. Qualification & Years of Experienceas per AICTE/UGC norms:

Bachelor's and Master's in Maths / Physics / Chemistry & PhD Degree in subject from the Top Tier, reputed university

10+ years of experience in teaching/ research out of which 3 years at a post equivalent to Associate Professor

At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC /AICTE/ABDC approved list of journals and guided 2 PhD students as Supervisor / Co-supervisor is highly desirable.

At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC /AICTE approved list of journals

Industry & Global Experience is desirable.
