Saw Operator

Job Description

Job Summary: As a Saw Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of saws to cut materials according to specifications in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine cutting requirements

Select appropriate saw blades, adjust settings, and ensure proper alignment for accurate cuts

Measure and mark materials to be cut, ensuring adherence to precise dimensions.

Operate all of the basic tools.

Feed materials into the saw, monitor the cutting process, and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity

Inspect finished cuts for accuracy, quality, and completeness

Keep accurate track of time daily.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment daily.

Work overtime if required.

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Looking for an individual with a basic understanding of machining metal with various cutting tools.

Have experience reading blueprints or cad drawings.

Have experience with Milling and Lathe equipment.

Understand and operate checking tools such as calipers.

Must be comfortable in a machine shop environment.

Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers

Ability to lift up to 60 pounds required

Proficient reading, writing, math, and communication skills are required.

Must have proficiency with computers.
