Job Description
Prepare patients for clinic office visits by ensuring chart readiness and draping patients prior to the Provider entering the exam room. Under the supervision of providers, the Medical Assistant will collect specimens and prepare them laboratory, run EKG, perform diagnostic tests, and give oral medications and injections as ordered; review provider orders and ensure they are followed, initialing or signing off after completion. Maintain internal and external Laboratory Log, and ensured all referral requests were complete and accurate before providing them to the Eligibility/Referral Clerk.
Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
High School graduate or equivalent
(Back Office) Medical Assistant Certificate required from an accredited school
Current BLS Certificate required and must be maintained
Venipuncture, Injection and Phlebotomy Certifications required
One year or more of MA experience preferred
Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred
