Company Description:

First Ammonia is a project developer focused on the energy transition building modular green ammonia plants from intermittent renewable energy using solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) technology. The company is rapidly rolling out green ammonia projects in the US, Europe and around the world, and seeking professionals to join its team. First Ammonia has secured 5 GW of electrolyzer capacity, and will be deploying projects around the world over the coming 5 years. The company is built upon decades of experience across many industries including complex infrastructure finance, engineering, banking, and wind power production.

General:

We are seeking a full-time controller. This candidate will support the CFO in budget management, invoice reconciliation and payments, and help track expenditures across various projects. Controller will work closely with project teams and senior management to manage all project expenses. You will work closely with a small but highly collaborative team in Manhattan, NY.

Minimum Requirements:

· At least two years previous experience in a similar function, preferably in an accountant project investment environment. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

Strong GAAP understanding

Experience with financial transactions, project finance, commodities markets

Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, including skills to categorize large amounts of financial transaction data

Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required)

Experience with financial statement compilation

Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management including executive level, and international teams

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Organized, accountable, self-motivated and must demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail

High degree of energy, motivation and dedication to quality work

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Maintain accounts payable file, and manage incoming invoices and all outgoing payments in conjunction with the CFO.

Manage budget to actual expenditure variance files.

Categorize and maintain expenditure allocation across various billing codes including company overhead, project investments, and other intercompany accounts.

Maintain all key project invoices and records for reporting and project budget reconciliation purposes.

Support CFO in maintaining and reconciling monthly and annual budgets.

Assist in the development of new accounting processes as needed and work to improve existing processes and procedures for greater efficiency and more accurate and timely reporting.

Prepare written reports, budget presentation materials, and summaries for executive review including detailed budget expenditures across various accounts.

Liaise with outside accountants, tax teams, and auditors as needed

Execute high-quality and timely analysis of expenditures.

Review new engagements, and contracts to account for expected cost outlay for budgeting purposes in future months.

Liaise with management to review budget drafts as edits are made at the project level or company level.
