Job Description: The owning activity is a project scoped to delivering a modern, scalable platform for data analytics, integration with key engineering tools, and analytics applications for a scoped set of use-cases to deliver value directly to specific business process areas. The web/visualization needs are required for the development of the big data analytics applications’ web user front-end UI and visualization components. Involves the use of / visualization of time series and high complexity data, and application of data has highly technical content – beyond typical business intelligence dashboards.
Additional Information:
Work Environment: Projects are run in an Agile manner, so a clear understanding and experience with Agile methodology are important. The candidate is also expected to take initiative and be a technical subject matter expert on efficient ways to accomplish project goals. The development team is split mostly between Clinton and Houston – this Software Developer position will be located in Houston, TX – and will report to the Project Manager and Use-Case Lead on the project within the client's IT organization.

Business Challenge: The creation of this Data Lake is to build a central repository or all data related to any of the client's Downstream/Manufacturing Organization while also have a great visualization display of the data.
EVP: This is a long-term opportunity to be apart of a team that is building one of the largest data lakes for the largest Oil & Gas Company in the world.
Non-Technical Skills: Must-have skill-sets:
• Analytical thinking/Problem-solving mindset
• Solid communication skills
• Experience with working on a large team in an iterative manner (knowledge of Agile/SCRUM is desirable)
• Advanced understanding of Python, in particular, version 2.7.
• Advanced understanding of Flask
• Solid understanding of Back-end middlewares, in particular, Nginx
• Solid understanding of NoSQL databases. Preference to value candidates who already worked with Hadoop and as a consequence with HBase
• Intermediate understanding of SQL Server
• Solid understanding of Python development GUIs: Anaconda or Visual Studio
• Solid understanding of code management repositories – Git
• Experience on working with Pandas/Numpy/Scikit
Desired skill-sets:
• Python 3.6 for version/feature enhancements
• Knowledge on how to interact and manage SQL Server entities/objects via SQLAlchemy
• Experience with CI/CD such as TFS
• Experience with containers and platforms (Openshift is preferred)
