THE ROLE:

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Shift: 3rd Shift

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Electrician will apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in all of the industrial plants at Bolthouse Farms. Responsible for maintaining electrical systems throughout various facilities, primary responsibilities include; troubleshooting 120/480 VAC motor control circuits, including motor testing, variable speed drives and soft-start from motor condition diagnosis to PLC control.

Answer trouble calls to maintain a low level of down-time on all electrical systems throughout the facility

Monitor proper Lock-out/Tag-out and other safe work practices

Troubleshoot process control systems including major and minor electrical malfunctions of equipment

Identify faulty components and ability to replace such components in a rapid, safe and efficient manner

Perform connections in the best craftsmanship possible, using proper techniques

Performing preventative maintenance of electrical systems including; servicing motors, control panels, and changing relays, etc

Understand the distribution of I/O as well as the location of field devices driven by such

Responsible for understanding drawings and schematics as well as the application of such

Assist with the commissioning of new equipment installations

Cooperate with Safety Director to correct problems and prevent future breakdowns

Respond to radio calls in a quick and respectful manner

Preform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to stay current on latest changes of the laws and regulation involving the NEC, OSHA, NFPA

Ability to promptly respond and prioritize production request

Pro-active mindset with the ability to apply common sense and good judgment under minimal supervision

Must be able to work as a team and follow instruction

Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools

Ability to work overtime and weekends

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Proven, reliable work history

3+ years of experience in industrial electricity

Valid California driver license and clean driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5 years’ recent industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing or processing facility

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Environmental exposure –cold/wet conditions (40 ree; or below/subzero temperatures), will work in the warehouse building and, in all plants (indoor and outdoor)

Material exposure-moving mechanical parts

Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles and vibrations

Occasional sitting, standing, walking as job requires

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

1st shift (6:00am to 3:30pm) plus when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory
