Teacher - Librarian

All responsibilities described in the Teacher Job Description apply to this role in addition to the following expectations:

Help students in selecting books when they come for checking out resources.

Support Home Room Teachers with unit integrations.

Plan events and celebrations in the Hive.

Work on the library display to make it more inviting.

Plan book fairs.

Guide/Train the Library staff to ensure effective library functioning

Organisation:

Prepare Schedules for Hive Lessons and Check-in and check out

Help in planning Author Visits.

Resources:

Annual stock-taking

Ordering books.

Book recommendations for collection development.

Guide/Help teachers with accessing online databases/e-resources.

Ensure units a resource on the Programme of Inquiry

Communication:

Meet with the PYP Coordinator once in an 8-day cycle to update events, lessons planning.

Communicating with parents.

Meet teachers for collaborative lesson planning.
