Full-time Chef - Shanghai Street restaurant

Shanghai Street No.2 (Sunny Wisdom Pty Ltd) is a Chinese restaurant for handmade dumplings and good quality food. We are looking for a full-time Chef who has previous experience in a similar restaurant environment. As a Chef at Shanghai Street, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen's operations, contributing to the preparation and presentation of our signature dishes. You will work closely with the culinary team to maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with food safety regulations.

Position Details:

Maintain stock control and monitor food quality

Ensure the kitchen adheres to food safety and hygiene regulations.

Plan menus and estimate costs in collaboration with the team

Collaborate with managers and staff on food preparation strategies to improve food quality and service

Prepare and cook meals to a high standard as per the restaurant's menu

Set the temperature of the cooking equipment

Must be enthusiastic & hard working

Select and train new kitchen staff to ensure quality standards.

Offering guidance on cooking techniques and procedure

Team player with excellent planning and organisational skills

You must be hands-on and able to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced environment

To be considered for this role, you MUST:

Relevant Qualifications - at least Cert IV or above

Preferably at least 2 years of proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role in a professional Chinese kitchen.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Be friendly and reliable

Have Australian work rights

Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is preferred to facilitate communication and enhance service quality.

Expected salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
