The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, restaurant professional Head Chef to lead the culinary team at Miss Songs restaurant at The Ville Resort-Casino. The position will be required to ensure the food offering at the restaurant is delivered to an exceptional standard, while operating within a clear profit framework. The Head Chef will need to lead by example so that the kitchen team shares the same vision of producing the highest quality food.

The Head Chef will be required to overse and manage all restaurant kitchen operations and lead the culinary team in all food production.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Leading, managing & continuously developing the kitchen team

Managing costs in line with budget expectations

Exceeding budgeted revenue targets by ensuring an excellent product is served every time

Implementing & maintaining kitchen procedures & overseeing quality control of all food production

Creative menu development

Overseeing ordering, stock-taking, stock-control & management

Kitchen operations management

All staff recruitment, hiring, training, development & succession planning

About You

The Head Chef is a person who is capable of driving excellent product, service and team culture throughout the kitchen. To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

Trade qualifications

At least 3+ experience at Head Chef level

Experience working in a similar venue

Extensive background in Asian cuisine, Chinese cuisine preferred

Excellent food knowledge at local & international level

Experience sourcing local ingredients & working with local suppliers

Strong leadership skills in managing & developing a kitchen team

Solid understanding of financial management & budgeting

Experience in food/wage costing & stock management

Ability to deliver product at the required standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Demonstrated experience overseeing a large team of culinary staff

Commitment to producing an excellent product for customers every time

A passion for food, creativity & innovation

Be reliable & driven

Excellent written & verbal communication skills
