If so, come join The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)! We are currently searching for an association professional, professional engineer, or technically oriented individual to provide leadership, management, and staff support to our Committee on Technical Advancement (CTA) and Committee on Sustainability (COS). Responsibilities include: Managing and coordinating the activities of the COS inclusive of multiple sub-committees, task groups, and/or project teams to advance COS's charge Leading volunteers through COS programs and organizational structure changes Researching, developing, and presenting sessions on sustainability and sustainable infrastructure for engineers as volunteer leaders and project leaders at ASCE conferences and events Liaising with other ASCE committees, ASCE departments, and external associations and organizations as necessary to promote sustainability activities and/or positions, facilitating discussion and collaboration, and keeping our members up-to-date on sustainability issues Identifying and initiating new activities to advance the mission of CTA and ASCE Developing products and services including committee reports, manuals of practice, journals, conference proceedings, webinars, workshops, and specialty conferences Constructing and monitoring a realistic annual budget Assisting with the planning and implementation of technical/educational sessions, workshops, training sessions, and/or exposition displays Assisting with the implementation of Technical Councils and Technical Divisions' Specialty Conferences Developing MOU's for CTA conferences that are hosted by an outside entity such as a university Promoting CTA activities in appropriate publications The ideal candidate will have: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, business administration or non-profit management or related field 7-10 years of previous experience in association management or as a practicing civil engineer Demonstrated success managing staff, volunteers, and programs Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong Microsoft 365 Suite, attention to detail, and adeptness at developing and maintaining systems and processes.
