Job Description

Duties:

Shall prepare and submit a full written report of incidents that are considered security breaches, violations of administrative regulations, or the assignment as set forth herein.

Shall make required security checks at the designated intervals

Security checks shall be made by walking.

Shall either use government furnished equipment for recording security checks or submit for approval an alternate proposed procedure and recording system for assuring that all required security checks are made.

Security records shall be submitted to the Chief, Albany Field Office of his designee for review on Monday of each week, listing all security checks and noting any deviations for the previous seven (7) days.

Shall record upper river pool level readings every four (4) hours and lower tide gage readings every hour.

Shall lock the Bond Street gate at the start of the shift, after the lock operator leaves; and unlock the gate before the lock operator arrives at 06:00.

Shall immediately notify the Chief Albany Field Office or his designee when upper river pool level exceeds 20.0 feet.

Shall direct inquiries for sandbags in accordance with guidance provided by the Chief, Albany Field Office or his designee.

Shall remain in the enclosed Security Guard Stand (Building 11) between security checks.

Qualifications:

Shall be minimum of twenty-one years of age.

The ability to construct and write clear, concise, accurate and detailed reports in the English language.

Must be physically capable of performing the tasks required under this specification.

Two (2) years of experience

Education/Certification:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency.

Shall be licensed in the State of New York and shall comply with all State and local laws applicable to security guards.
