The candidate will analyze, plan, and understand the company’s financial position, support, baseline planning, and actual cost verification, preparation of Estimates at Completion (EAC), variance analysis, manpower projections, revenue, and profit forecasting. They will actively participate in month-end closings to include preparing necessary cost accruals and journal entries to ensure cost/revenue are recognized correctly for all programs.
In addition, they will provide general support to the Program Manager/Program Team with business and financial analysis, and, financial reports for Site Management. Their experience with project/program finance and working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint will help them succeed in this position.
Required Experience:
3-5 years of experience as a finance analyst – looking for a mid-level to senior candidate.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience running reports and looking up purchase history with DelTek Cost Point.
Experience reading and understanding contracts through GovCon.
Able to multi-task, collaborate with project managers, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Government experience and Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field desired.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Program & Finance: Basis of Estimate (BOE) preparation; Budget preparation, reporting and management; Cost & Variance Analysis; Estimate at Completion (EAC); Cash Management/Working Capital; Forecasting; Contractual Reporting (CDRL, EVM, Cost & Pricing, C/SSR); Risk Management; Return on Investment (ROI); Audit preparation and management; and Program Review preparation
Understand the Annual Financial Plan and the Strategic Guide Plan process and help prepare program bookings, revenue, operating profit, investment and cash flow data
Perform financial planning and analysis for a program of moderate to large size, or several smaller programs for the organization
Ensure GAAP and Corporate policies guiding revenue recognition are adhered to on every contract and properly reflected in Site plans and forecasts
Apply critical thinking to assist site management in identifying risk and developing risk mitigation strategies
Understand how job costs are collected and billed on all contract types
Ability to work on cross-functional teams
Understand contract design and structure to include: FFP; CPIF; CPFF; CPAF; BOA; IDIQ; Foreign Military Sale (FMS);
and International Direct Commercial Sale (DCS), and, competitive and sole source procurements
Establish, develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers
Conduct analytical studies, monitor trends and interpret the results
Support of government compliance and audit activities
Ability to grasp generally accepted accounting principles and develop a working knowledge of the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and IFRS
Supports, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Mentor, train and provide work leadership to less-experienced Financial Analysts
Compensation Range: 90k-110k
