SUMMARY: The successful candidate will be responsible for design and development of tooling and products related to vinyl dip and/or injection molding. They will also help manage and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the projects are being accomplished within defined time frames and budgets. They will work with new and existing tooling to support vinyl dip and/or injection molding by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Design of vinyl dip and/or injection molding tooling and products

· Creates product and tool concepts and manages projects from quotation through production kick-off

· Prepares cost estimates for products and tooling for vinyl dip molding

· Develops or improves upon existing designs

· Helps troubleshoot vinyl dip and/or injection tools and designs as necessary

· Works with internal tool shops or external tool vendors to manage projects, timelines, lead times

· Updates other functional areas on status of projects

· Recommends revisions to parts, tools, or manufacturing processes when required

· Communicates with colleagues of different departments to complete projects as required

· Responsible for complying with the company’s Environmental Policy Manual, applicable work instructions and reporting any environmental nonconformance and/or potential nonconformance to supervision or management

QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously

· Ability to produce quality deliverables on time and within budget

· Able to work independently to solve problems

· Knowledge of plastic materials and design for manufacturing

· Communicates with colleagues of different departments to complete projects as required

· Strong collaborative skills-works effectively and cooperatively with all appropriate departments

· Strong design and organizational skills

· Demonstrates good engineering skills to deliver designs and uses data to make sound engineering decisions

· Proficiency in Solidworks or similar software

EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering (Plastics preferred) or equivalent experience

· Project Management experience desired

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
