Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance personnel, equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance. This position works with the Plant Director to set department goals in alignment with company goals. Develops and implements plans for preventive maintenance, building upkeep, and machinery/equipment installation and maintenance. In addition to directing the work of the maintenance team, the maintenance manager is also required to perform maintenance duties as needed. This position does not offer relocation assistance or sponsorship.

Essential Functions:

Track equipment maintenance and repair costs and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.

Troubleshoot equipment problems and implement solutions to minimize down time.

Oversee Preventive, Predictive maintenance, and parts inventory.

Coordinate line maintenance changeovers to meet production schedule and customer requirements.

Schedule and assign maintenance work and projects to the maintenance team.

Perform inspections and oversee maintenance work to ensure quality.

Lead the team on new projects, equipment upgrades and equipment installation.

Develop and revise maintenance procedures and SOPs for all maintenance work.

Focus on the development of the Maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies.

Document, create and submit reports to Plant Director regarding all maintenance activities such as budgets, progress, and schedules.

Monitor, observe, and enforce Lockout/Tagout practices in the plant; and maintains the Lockout/Tagout Program.

Maintain a high level of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the plant and participate on the Safe Quality Food (SQF) team.

Works with outside vendors on projects by requesting quotes, establishing specifications, and negotiating contracts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Demonstrated leadership experience.

Experience and education, or combination as maintenance or repair manager in a manufacturing setting.

Knowledge of equipment and facilities maintenance.

In-depth knowledge of OSHA Safety requirements.

Excellent communication skills.

Microsoft Office skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to push, pull and lift 50lbs.

Ability to work in standing position for extended periods, with frequent stooping and bending.

Environmental Conditions:

Air-conditioned/heated facility with adequate lighting.

Personal protective equipment:hearing protection is required and provided.
