POSITION SUMMARY

Analyze product delivery or supply chain processes to identify or recommend changes. Manage route activity including invoicing and shipment tracing.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Update and maintain spreadsheets on locations and inventory of saddles.

• Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, estimated time of arrival, and transportation costs of all SFES/DFES equipment.

• Provide ongoing analyses in areas of equipment cost and cost per mile for saddle equipment.

• Prepare reports on logistics performance measures.

• Confer with operating company management teams to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.

• Remotely monitor the flow of saddle inventory using logistics information systems.

• Track saddle flow from origin to final delivery.

• Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes.

• Develop or maintain models for logistics uses, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting.

• Review procedures, such as vendor cost and saddle inventory management, to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum cost.

• Apply analytic methods or tools to understand, predict, or control logistics operations or processes.

• Maintain equipment records in accordance with corporate policies.

• Compute reporting metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and saddle inventory turns.

• Route or reroute drivers based on demand for equipment.

• Contact carriers and negotiate rates or schedules.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school): Preferred

Experience:

3 plus years of experience in transportation field or logistics

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
