Senior Applications Engineer

Onsite - San Diego - Full-Time

The Senior Applications Engineer role will work closely with the Sales and Design Engineering team. This role will be the key bridge between the customers’ specifications and the company’s technology and designs.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a closely related field, is required; a Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience in launching products at low to mid volumes into production is essential. Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, as well as mechanical and thermal simulation, preferably COMSOL, is required.

Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-ups, and drawing review/release procedures is necessary.

Knowledge of energy storage system regulations and certifications, including UL 2271, UL 9540, UL 1973, UN 38.3, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, SAE J1797, SAE J2464, and related requirements, is expected.

Strong skills in technical writing, communication, teamwork, and organization are essential.
