Roles & Responsibilities:

You will spearhead improvement initiatives aimed at achieving, sustaining, and enhancing safety, reliability, and process capability objectives through project leadership.

You will provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware and take a lead role in the manufacturing and integration of our current and next-generation vehicles

Applying process improvement methodologies and tools (e.g. value stream mapping, problem-solving, visual management, etc.) to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues; increase production rates; and remove waste from complex processes

Manage projects and execute tight deadlines while effectively communicating to and influencing stakeholders.

Train others in operations practices by leading process improvement workshops; providing training and information briefs on key topics and demonstrating by implementing solutions in the area

Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, then implement in a rapidly evolving production environment

Implement tooling and test solutions

You will contribute to design reviews acting as an expert in design for manufacturability, design for testability, yield improvements, supplier capabilities assessments, quality control, etc

You will be the primary point of contact for the production of non-conforming products, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations, and corrective actions

You will work on process and tooling development/validation for new products

You will prepare engineering documentation necessary for the transition from development to production including assembly procedures, test procedures, standard operating procedures, schematic diagrams, bills of materials, suitable alternate parts lists, and mechanical drawings

Lead continuous improvement efforts of the established product

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

5+ years of industry product design, development, or build integration & test experience, specifically focused on integrated systems

A minimum of 1+ years of experience performing fabrication and assembly

Proficiency in deriving logical conclusions and conducting comprehensive trade analyses based on foundational engineering principles.

Experience with high volume manufacturing, or design for manufacture and product development life cycle, or quality tools including root cause and corrective action, PFMEAs, QMS and process auditing and statistical analysis of quality metrics

Experience with metallic manufacturing techniques and equipment for processes such as CNC fabrication, welding (orbital tube and TIG), precision cleaning, forming, inspection, etc.

Demonstrated experience with CAD and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Strong communication skills

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Be comfortable with sometimes working in a production environment for long periods.

Desired Skills:

Experience in a start-up or fast paced environment

Experience working in a flight, aviation, aerospace development program

Experience transitioning parts from first article to production
