Mechanic Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a mechanic assistant to become a part of our team! We are looking for someone with a background in using tools and mechanical equipment. You will be required to perform a variety of maintenance/repair tasks, as well as identify areas of improvement to increase operation efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation and operation of various mechanical systems

Assist in repairing machines and equipment defects

Perform routine preventative maintenance

Perform 'Lock-Out/Tag-Out' procedures

Work directly with production manager to advise on machinery issues before they become bigger problems

Order parts directly from vendors, and ensure return items are promptly handled

Qualifications:

Previous experience as mechanic assistant, or working on heavy machinery. Work on commercial washers/dryers, boiler systems, HVAC, plumbing, general electrical would lend well to this position

Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics; previous experience working with electrical a plus.

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; sometimes creative solutions are needed

Ability to prioritize and multitask
