Job Description

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to use hand-welding or flame cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Responsible for performing welding repairs for heavy equipment and machinery and fabricating of metals parts and projects. Design/Invent automation mechanical solutions to reduce labor. Automation Fabrication or knowledge implementation.

Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

Operate manual machine shop machines, mill, lathe, saws, and grinders effectively.

Performs maintenance, repair, fabricating, welding, remodeling and construction on a variety of metal products from samples and sketches, or minimal direction. Self-initiative critical.

Performs manual machining, shaping, straightening, sizing, dressing and heat treating of metal products, etc.

Operates acetylene cutting torch, air arc gouge, plasma arc cutter, welding machine, stick, mig, tig machine, grinders, etc. to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weld materials according to specifications

Assist in recommendation for automation improvements, fabrication, implementation, and maintenance.

PLC and automation knowledge an extreme plus

Maintains and inspects equipment and work area ensuring a clean, safe and hazard free work environment and equipment in proper working condition

Maintains accurate records of hours worked

Inspects completed work for conformance to established specifications

Performs other related duties as required

Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week

Must be qualified to work in the United States

Educational and General Qualification Requirements:

Welding Certification a plus, Vocational Education, High School diploma or equivalent

One to two years' work-related skill, knowledge, hands-on experience or vocational training preferred

Knowledge of welding tools such as: torches, welders and welding equipment requirements and usage

Must work independently and as a member of team

Occasional Duties:

Perform routine maintenance on equipment, clean work areas, or assist in other divisions as necessary when not on assignment.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7am 3:30pm (Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed)

NOTE: As part of the interview process, qualified candidates will be tested to demonstrate welding capacity and machining on lathe and mill. Protective equipment like welding helmet and gloves will be required to bring into interview.
