We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Instrument Laboratory Associate. This position will report directly to the Senior VP of Science Research and Development.

Responsibilities

Implement assay testing on T2 Biosystems’ automated device.

Follow specific test protocols to evaluate assay performance on the instrument.

Record and manage instrument results and device failures

Work with R&D team to develop and optimize new assay workflows on the instrument.

Perform instrument maintenance including cleaning, preventative maintenance and basic to moderate instrument repairs.

Maintain instrument run logs and record basic performance data.

Observe and document instrument failures as they occur.

Complete instrument QA records in accordance with SOP’s and good documentation practices.

Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.

Maintain reagent and lab supplies inventory.

Skills and Expertise

BS/BA with 0-2 years’ experience or AS with 2-5 years’ experience in Biomechanical Engineering or Biological Sciences preferred.

Must have mechanical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.

Basic biology lab skills such as safety, pipetting, sterile sample handling required.

Must be comfortable handling blood samples.

Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment under a quality control system a plus.

Excellent organizational, recordkeeping and communication skills (verbal and written).

Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) required.

Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to generating high quality work under tight deadlines.

Self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment within a matrix organization.

Must have excellent observational skills and a collaborative, proactive and positive attitude.
