Job Description
Summary
The High-Pressure Boiler Operator operates, serves, and maintains power equipment and systems. This includes such items as boilers, and associated pumps. The operator is also responsible for checks of condensate systems throughout the plant.
Operates high pressure boiler, pumps, and related equipment (i.e., carrying pressure exceeding 15 pounds per square inch) and maintains log.
Monitors, adjusts, and observes operation of boilers and checks general welfare of boiler houses.
Starts, synchronizes, switches, and shuts down equipment as needed.
Inspects, cleans, maintains, performs minor repairs & preventative maintenance on high pressure boilers, pumps, & related equipment
Performs steam fitting & plumbing duties as related to boiler maintenance.
Performs water testing, chemical treatment and documentation related to campus systems & equipment.
Performs miscellaneous tasks (i.e., keeps boiler room clean, makes inspection rounds)
May be required to work on Holidays and take call rotation as required.
Logs all changes and problems related to the boiler/boiler controls.
Maintains inventory of replacement parts and chemicalsQualifications and education requirements
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of basic mathematical skills
Knowledge of basic reading skills
Ability to carry out verbal and/or written instructions.
Knowledge of basic computer skills to utilize computer maintenance system.
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written.
Licensed as Ohio high-pressure boiler operator (Please document on resume and upload license into the application).
