The Delta Hotels Minneapolis Northeast is seeking a full time, hourly Food Runner.

As a premier Northeast destination restaurant, the TC400 Tavern Food Runner's primary responsibility will be to assist in the food service team in providing exceptional and personalized service to all guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists the food service team in all aspects of service.

Picking up food orders from both the front and back of the house.

Completing timed orders.

Completing dish pick-ups and restocks.

Checks plates for accuracy.

Ensures no order leaves the kitchen without a duplicate ticket.

Maintains equipment par levels as directed.

Wipes counter areas sink floors as required to maintain a clean and safe workstation.

Removes and properly disposes of all refuse and debris and accumulated in restaurant and front line in accordance with department procedures.

As the leader, be in control of coordinating all outgoing food items from the kitchen.

Requires attention to detail.

Ability to ensure the organization of the front line, communicating with the food preparation staff allowing adequate time for food items to be prepared for our guests.

Thanks customers, invites them back, and provides personalized service during guest interactions.

Pre-bussing tables, having a sense of urgency.

Assisting and communicating with hosts, servers and other bussers.

Perform other duties as assigned, to include vacuuming, cleaning up spills and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.

Must be able to communicate with guests, supervisors and co-workers.

Ability to remain calm in hectic, faced paced environment, remaining professional at all times.

Must display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests at all times.

Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.

Knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to ascend ladders and reach above head for inventory and supply replenishment purposes.

Must be able to stand, walk and exert well-paced activity for up to 4 hours in length.

Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is controlled by environmental systems. Inside temperature is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures to include the kitchen and kitchen coolers.

Must be able to pull and push cards, as needed.

Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited spaces.

Must be able to stoop, twist, turn, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, stoop, and stretch per cleaning tasks.

Ascend or descend stairs, steps, or similar uneven surfaces to access any required work area or other related to functioning in the workplace.

Must be able to grasp, handle, write, bend, climb and perform repetitive motions.

Requires listening and hearing ability.

Visual acuteness; must be able to see things near and have depth perception.

Manual dexterity to operate equipment needed to perform job.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

At least one year of expediting experience.

High School or equivalent education experience required.

Must be minimum age to serve alcohol and be able to obtain a TIPS certified and/or food handling certificate as required by the establishment.

Must maintain a neat, well-groomed and clean appearance according to the standards set forth by the establishment.

Regular and dependable attendance is required. Attendance at scheduled meetings and training sessions is required.
