R&D Technologist (Product Formulator - Packaging)

Position: R&D Technologist I (With Packaging)

General Objectives of the Job:

R&D Technologist will assist both for the development and technical service for the biosafety products as well as ensure and evaluate new packaging materials. He/She will also drive developments and ensure that the compatibility of products with bulk packaging.

Scope of Work:

A. Periodically

Conduct experiments and lab trials, for product development and process optimization, including documentation, in line with the needs of the Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing.

Conduct stability testing to support product use and shelf life of newly synthesized products and specialty blends.

Lead the testing of all new bulk packaging from pails to flexibags

Primarily authors and keeps the Packaging Testing Manual and all relevant test methods and requirements pertaining to bulk packaging.

Primarily authors and keeps the Packaging Specifications of all relevant bulk packaging materials

Closely coordinates with other groups (production, procurement, QA, etc.) for any concerns pertaining to bulk packaging materials

Leads the responsibility of the packaging testing area and its documentation including handling, storage, retention keeping, record keeping, and disposal of all packaging materials listed for testing

Conducts and documents product to packaging compatibility including heat and cold temperature stability and profile

Represent the company in technical seminars, conventions, exhibitions

B. Daily

Conducts experiments based on the requirements of product or process development

Coordinates with Supply Chain and Marketing groups regarding test results and technical concerns

Conducts, evaluates and documents new packaging materials and their alternatives

Performs other related tasks that may be assigned by R&D Specialists or higher

Note: Bulk packaging includes, but not limited to carboys, pails drums, totes, and plastic linings

Qualifications:

Graduate of Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, Packaging or other Science Courses

1 year of packaging evaluation experience is a plus

1 year experience in personal and home care, and institutional and industrial formulations is a plus

Background from oleochemical industry is a plus

Knowledgeable in statistical analysis

Knowledgeable in Word and Excel and record keeping management

Able to handle night shift requirements
