DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs direct patient care:
a. Answers patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients’ needs.
b. Renders bed bath, afternoon care, oral care, and other comfort measures for category 1 & 2 patients.
c. Bowel preparation/Enemas (soap suds, saline, and 3-way cleansing enema only).
d. Proper positioning of category 1 & 2 patients.
e. Daily changing of linen.
f. Diaper change for incontinent or bedbound patients.
g. Supplies, collects, and empties bedpans. Empties urine bag.
h. Prepares patients for sleep by rendering afternoon care and oral hygiene.
i. Offers empty clean bedpan, urinals, and commode.
j. Post-mortem care; transports cadaver to the morgue, if needed.
Prepares/assists patient for his/her meals, serves and removes food trays, and a. orally feeds a patient with no companion.
Follows proper procedures for lifting and moving patients.
Transfers patients in and out of bed, to and from a wheelchair/stretcher inside the room.
Walks patient if ambulatory or thru the use of wheelchair to go around the hospital corridor, doctor’s clinic, to the chapel, and to other department for diagnostic purposes, except for patients with any oxygen device and Intravenous Fluid.
Assembles supplies and prepares equipment for the patient as instructed by the nurse such as: pelvic traction, Balkan frame with overhead trapeze, bed boards, and other devices/gadgets for nursing care.

Educational requirements
Graduate of any 4-year health-related course, preferable Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Underboard nursing graduate are welcome to apply
Completed in-house training for NAP II personnel
Working Conditions:
Rotating shifts, as well as holiday work during inclement weather will be required. This job role requires regular walking to various locations around the hospital. Regularly exposed to the risks of blood borne and airborne diseases. Wears personal protective equipment as required. Job requires lifting and carrying of light to medium objects.
