WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced upscale dining Bartender. The bartender's role is to provide an excellent guest experience through storytelling, signature cocktails, and recommendations regarding the local craft beers and wines offered. A quality bartender candidate is knowledgeable about mixology and can mix traditional drinks and craft creative cocktails.

While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Satisfy guest requests promptly while providing a positive and friendly experience

Take beverage orders from customers and servers and serve drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail

Exemplify outstanding communication skills, with the aptitude to create unique experiences for guests and promote excellent customer service

Mix beverages using extensive ingredients, including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits; prepare, slice, and pit fruit for garnish.

Collect guest payment, issue receipts and/ or change, and abide by all cash handling procedures.

Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beverages.

Ensure all bar tools, glassware, and the bar area are maintained throughout every shift to the highest cleanliness standards.

Maintain a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories.

Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory

Conduct inventory count when necessary

Follow outlet policies, procedures, and service standards

Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods

Responsible for personal hygiene, grooming, clean uniform, and professional appearance

Assist in any other aspect of the restaurant service when necessary

Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

All other duties are as assigned by the restaurant manager or any other member of management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Training in fine dining restaurants preferred

Prior education in ServSafe food handling, or TIPS alcohol service training preferred

Experience:

Minimum of one-year prior bartending experience preferred

Prior guest relations training

Knowledge of proper food handling

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding

Strong written/verbal communication skills

Positive, upbeat attitude/personality

Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with minimum supervision

Punctuality and reliable attendance are required

Proper food safety training and certification as described by law

Experience working with computers (MS Office/Google) POS (Micros, Aloha, etc.) and reservation software (Open Table, Resy, etc.)

Skills:

Possess wine, beer, and spirits knowledge

Superior knowledge of classic cocktails, as well as the capability to quickly and efficiently build, shake, and create them for guests

Strong positive attitude and ability to initiate conversation with guests.

Knowledge of hotel property and operating hours.

Customer focus and drive to deliver optimal employee and customer satisfaction.

Must have the ability to multi-task and perform well under stressful circumstances.

Ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system

Equipment to Be Used: Point of sale system; knives for preparing fruits and garnishes; Island Oasis drink machine/blender; keg system

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age

Must be able to lift 75lbs

Ability to bend, kneel, squat

Ability to stand/walk for an 8 hour shift

Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Ensure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping are performed safely

Ability to push and pull, lift and carry up to 30lbs

Ability to communicate fluently in English with hotel/restaurant guests and employees.

Ability to provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to guests.

Ability to work under pressure, be organized, self-motivated, and work well with others.

Work Environment:

Le Moyne’s Chophouse is a sixty seat dinner-only restaurant with a bar. Will occasionally work in other areas of the property including other restaurant/banquet outlets, storage areas, kitchens, and guest areas.

During busy hours, bartenders are under pressure to have everything they need to serve customers quickly and efficiently.

Bartenders often work late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
