Job Description: Maintenance Technician

If you like learning about and using the latest gadgets, have an understanding of Electrical, Hydraulics and Mechanical devices, have strong technical and mechanical skills, can keep detailed records, analyze difficult situations, quickly solve problems, comply with maintenance standards, work well in a team atmosphere and in individual situations, and are able to operate equipment and machinery in a safe manner, and are looking for an opportunity to grow, turn that passion into a career as a Fisher Barton Maintenance Technician. You will maintain, and repair Electrical, PLCs, Hydraulics and Mechanical device systems, and perform preventive maintenance activities, and maintain and troubleshoot facility and emergency maintenance systems. At Level 1, You will:

Adhere to Fisher Barton Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics

Read PM procedures, interpret basic engineering drawings and schematics, and understand statistical process trends

Understand and follow maintenance specific work instructions to inspect, test, measure, repair, and replace mechanical equipment

Complete daily maintenance tasks

Log time, task completion, and PM results throughout the day using a computer

Execute tasks and responsibilities as required by the Preventive Maintenance System

Maintain accurate, legible, and complete Maintenance documentation

Collaborate with other technicians, engineering & leads/supervisors to continually improve the safety of our environment, the quality of our products, the efficiency & utilization of our processes & equipment

Participate in Continuous Improvement teams and training

Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the work area

At Level 2, You will also:

Understand and follow maintenance specific work instructions to inspect, test, measure, repair, and replace hydraulic, PLC, and electrical equipment

Apply your Electrical, PLC, Hydraulic and Mechanical systems’ knowledge to solve complex maintenance problems

Install and troubleshoot new equipment

At Level 3, You will also:

Work independently to solve complex facility and emergency maintenance problems within tight time constraints

Develop maintenance specific work instructions covering inspection, testing, measurement, repair, and replacement

Train Maintenance Technician team members

Troubleshoot and correct PLC problems by identifying and isolating the most common system faults

Drive predictive maintenance using higher level math, interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, and utilizing computer programs for testing & statistical trend analysis

Collaborate with other technicians, engineering & leads/supervisors to continually improve the safety of our environment, the quality of our products, the efficiency & utilization of our processes & equipment

Required Qualifications:

Required at Level 1:

High School Diploma or equivalent

1 year experience as a maintenance technician

Experience performing equipment repairs and preventive maintenance tasks

Able to read and understand instructions and apply job requirements to ensure quality

Able to read, write, and communicate English effectively

Adept with basic mathematics

Required at Level 2:

High School Diploma and 2 years experience as a maintenance technician; or equivalent or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Maintenance Technician 1 team member

Proficient in all Maintenance Technician 2 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix

Experience maintaining and repairing Hydraulics and Mechanical device systems

Demonstrates strong technical skills

Able to analyze difficult situations and quickly solve problems

Ability to read and understand instructions and apply job requirements to ensure quality

Ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively

Adept with basic mathematics

Required at Level 3:

High School Diploma and 3 years experience as a maintenance technician; or equivalent or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Maintenance Technician 2 team member

Proficient in all Maintenance Technician 3 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix

Broad experience maintaining and repairing Electrical, Hydraulics and Mechanical device systems

Can develop and perform less routine PMs

Can troubleshoot basic facility and emergency maintenance problems

Able to analyze difficult situations and quickly solve problems

Ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively

Adept with basic mathematics

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred at Level 1:

Proficient in troubleshooting problems to rapidly obtain successful outcomes

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Windows)

Able to work well with personnel from all levels in all functions of the organization

Preferred at Level 2:

Proficient in troubleshooting problems to rapidly obtain successful outcomes

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Windows)

Ability to work well with personnel from all levels in all functions of the organization

Preferred at Level 3:

Proficient in troubleshooting problems to rapidly obtain successful outcomes

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Windows)

Ability to work well with personnel from all levels in all functions of the organization

Physical Visual Demands:

Ability to stand 8-12 hours a day

Ability to sit, stand, squat and bend

Reach overhead with one or both arms

Repetitive movement of lifting and placing parts on machines / up to 15 pounds

Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds

Work Environment:

Manufacturing: Loud (Examples: metal can, manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of environmental conditions.

Shift: 2nd Shift 3:30 pm-2:00 am Monday-Thursday
