Job Description

· Associate’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field preferred, with at least five years working experience in production scheduling or inventory control in a manufacturing environment. If no degree, 7 years’ experience in related field.

· Experience applying JIT, 5S, and other Lean Manufacturing methodologies under a continuous improvement (Kaizen) philosophy.

· Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs.

· Experience with AS400, PowerLink/XA, inventory management systems, back flush locations and materials transfers required. Knowledge of, or experience in, designing, development, and/or implementing cycle count systems.

· Must be able to work self-directed in a fast paced environment. Ability to seamlessly transition between working independently to working as part of a team is required.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: (duties may vary depending on production schedules)

In conjunction with Logistics Management / Production Management/Supervision in the development of schedules for raw materials, and manpower with respect to customer demand versus resource capabilities and availability.

Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels within the manufacturing facility for all raw material and finished good products in support of customer demand and ship schedules.

Work with the Logistics Manager to develop schedule for scrap material using the company plan and systems.

Working with the Logistics Manager to develop and procure support based on inventory variances.

Establish and maintain Kanban throughout the plants, inclusive of warehouse

On a daily basis, investigate / correct & determine root cause of inventory variances; reporting results to Logistics, Operations and Plant managers.
