Job Description:

The Service Officer/Dispatcher serves as the department’s dispatcher, telephone operator, and receptionist for all college police/public safety matters. This position operates computerized emergency communications equipment and maintains an orderly flow of communications between the base and field operations; monitors the limited access and National Crime Information Center/Florida Crime Information Center (NCIC/FCIC) computer system; and may be assigned to work in the field, assisting with non-enforcement duties. Reports to Director, Public Safety/Chief of College Police.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and two years of work experience in any field are required. State certification on the NCIC/FCIC computer system within six months of receiving the position is required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

ANNUAL SALARY: $26,100.00 ($13.39/hour)
