About the Job

This individual will be responsible for executing the company's external financial reporting processes, including SEC reporting, technical accounting research, and compliance with accounting standards. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company's financial disclosures and filings. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting, strong collaboration skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Assist with leading the preparation and filing of the company's periodic reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and disclosure requirements.

Guide the process around preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures for SEC filings, coordinating with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and ensure accuracy and completeness.

Research and interpret accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, SEC rules) to ensure compliance and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.

Assess the impact of new accounting standards and regulations on the company's financial reporting, leading implementation efforts as necessary.

Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit of financial statements and disclosures, including resolving audit issues and addressing auditor inquiries.

Provide technical accounting guidance and support to finance and business teams, including evaluating the accounting treatment of complex transactions and agreements.

Maintain and suggest enhancements for internal controls over financial reporting related to SEC and technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, assessing their impact on the company's financial reporting processes and disclosures.

Collaborate with and provide guidance to accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with senior management, legal counsel, and other stakeholders on accounting and reporting matters, providing support and navigation as needed.

Requirements:

Minimum of bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.

7-10 years of experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting, and/or public accounting.

Well-rounded knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and accounting principles.

Experience with SEC reporting software/tools (e.g., Workiva, Certent) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and interpret complex accounting issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
