BCTG’s direct client is seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer with expertise in cloud security best practices to join our growing team. The Security Engineer will work with a joint team of Information Technology, Security, and Infrastructure Engineers to implement, monitor and improve the client’s Technology Security Program.
This client is in the process of significant growth, and transition from an on premises data center into a secure cloud environment. We are looking for someone that can come in and help define the future.
Responsibilities
Lead IT-Security projects to envision, define and implement improved cyber-security processes and systems, such as improved Cloud Security Architecture, Secure Network Design and Continuous Monitoring
Create and manage our cloud security program, ensuring the security of core business processes, reduce and respond to cyber incidents
Prepare risk assessments and security authorization documentation
Work with Infrastructure and Networking teams to review processes and implement process improvements and contribute to Risk Based Assessments of the security program
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate any weaknesses in our infrastructure.
Prepare reports and presentations for IT and Security Management and support security audits
Coordinate with third party SOC and associated log feeds and SOC generated tickets, including providing input to continuously improve analysis and visibility
Keep up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies, and recommend improvements to our security posture
Required Qualifications
5+ years’ technical experience in general information security
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrable cloud security experience and skillset
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize in a high volume environment with competing demands
Preferred Qualifications
Strong Azure background a major plus
Industry related degree is preferred
Industry certification is preferred
3+ years of experience in IT Security with a focus on cloud, and infrastructure security
Experience with any of the following technologies a plus: firewalls (such as Palo Alto or Cisco), endpoint detection and response (Crowdstrike, Defender, etc), Privileged Access Management (Delinea, CyberArk, etc), Identity Governance & Administration (Saviynt), Web Application Firewall (Akamai)
Cloud Experience: Azure security capabilities, VMware ESXi, Business Class Hardware/Cloud Firewalls (Cisco ASA and Palo Alto, Barracuda), VPN Appliances
