Intellectual Property Lawyer (Large Molecule) - Biotech Company

My client is a well established Biotechnology company specializing in procuring medication for conditions and diseases associated to the neurological systems.

They are seeking a Sr. IP Counsel with large molecule experience to join their Biologics team.

Responsibilities of the IP Counsel:

Finding discoveries, creating patents, and pursuing patents for biologics and gene therapy

Executing strategic IP due diligence, including examination of rivals' and possible partners' patent portfolios

Working and communicating with partners and other external strategic partners

Examining and negotiating license contracts and any IP provisions in other contracts

Supporting the development of biosimilars

Communicating with external counsel

Qualifications of the IP Counsel:

JD from an established institution

PhD in genetics, immunology, biochemistry, virology or related discipline preferred OR Master's degree in genetics, immunology, biochemistry, virology or related discipline

5+ years of experience

Large molecule experience necessary

Strong verbal/communication skills

*This role is in San Diego and requires to go in office 2-3 days a week.*
