Compensation: up to $115k

Systems Engineer (Linux/Ansible)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux environments, proficient in creating and managing Ansible playbooks, and experienced in software builds and Netapp CLI scripting. This role will be pivotal in maintaining, developing, and executing sophisticated scripts and automation tools to enhance our system's infrastructure and resilience.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux scripts heavily using shell scripting.

- Create, update, and manage Ansible playbooks for automation and configuration management.

- Build and test custom software solutions, primarily from Open Source code.

- Perform scripting and automation within Netapp CLI environments.

- Assist in the design and documentation of disaster recovery (DR) strategies, ensuring robustness and effective implementation.

- Collaborate with IT teams to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deploy functional systems.

- Travel to local data centers as required to implement, update, or troubleshoot systems.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a mature grasp of system engineering and not suitable for novices.

- Strong proficiency in Linux shell scripting, YAML, and Markdown.

- Demonstrated experience with building applications from Open Source code.

- Proficient in Netapp CLI scripting.

- Proven ability to take project requirements and independently deliver effective solutions.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation.
