Contract (7 months)

Our client is seeking a Computer Network Specialist to join their team in D.C. to interact with clinical, financial, and technical staff to promote their new technology and adaptation. This candidate will support calls received, troubleshoot requirements, and image new devices.

Responsibilities:

Unbox, asset management (recording serial numbers, labeling), imaging them, running through check list, manual installations and package installations.

Provide vendor support and communications to resolve technology issues or problems in a timely and responsive manner.

Manage work and Help Desk tickets in a manner that reduces call backs and manages work and time efficiently.

Install personal computer hardware, equipment and software, training and educating end users for the efficient operation as necessary.

Provide IT maintenance, implementation, upgrades, and support for the organization’s network, hardware and software, including but not limited to workstations (PCs), servers, printers, scanners, and operating systems.

Monitor and maintain the scheduled enterprise wide backups which include all Servers (Windows 2000/2003, Application Servers, e.g., Radiology, Pharmacy, etc) on the network.

Document all work performed for network users in the IT Help Desk system (Track IT).

Provide Intranet/Internet technical support and reports end user misuse of desktop computers to their immediate supervisor and IT management.

Work collaboratively with other IT individuals, including staff, vendors or outside consultants.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of HP desktop computers or multiple vendor devices (IBM, Dell, Apple).

Knowledge of PC hardware including Pentium Processor Systems, PCI, IDE and SCSI interfaces.

Knowledge of Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.

Experience in LDAP and Active Directory.

Experience in LAN topologies including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and fiber-optic communication protocols.

Experience in application software including Microsoft Office Professional, device drivers for CPUs, printers and peripherals.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.

Ability to independently carry out project assignments and coordinate various aspects of each project with others both inside and outside of the hospital.

Ability to work rotating shifts and on weekends.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer systems or related and 2+ years’ experience in the field of information technology is required.

In lieu of degree 5+ years’ experience working in the field of IT

CompTIA+ preferred
