Tier Support Systems Administrator Manager

Peraton has a great opportunity for a Systems Administrator Manager in Chantilly, VA supporting our Intelligence Community (IC) customer. Skyfire is a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system. Its purpose is establish a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), find RSOs of interest, and provide data to ground operators. Located in Chantilly, VA, the Skyfire team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system.

Responsibilities include:

Provide and Ensure training of Tier 2 Technical Staff

Responsible the execution of Tier 2 processes, functions, activities and tasks.

Manage Tier 2 Technical Staff

Provide technical expertise and support to end-users

Performs: Incident Management, Event Management, Call Center Management actions.

Provides technical support to users by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining workstation and LAN performance.

Provides answers to clients by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding clients through corrective steps.

Monitor and manage systems to ensure operation, reporting of anomalies, call-out of Tier 2/3 staff.

Improves system performance by identifying problems and recommending changes.

Documents and logs routine and non-routine events with an eye for metrics.

Maintains eligibility by completing all mandatory training objectives.

Participate in training and development of staff techniques, technologies, and processes.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.

IAT II Certification (Security+)

ITIL training or certification

Experience and ability to triage incidents and events for effective resolution

Experience with Active Directory account and server management and monitoring

Experience with monitoring and management tools

Knowledge of Backup Systems, Networking principles, and equipment

Knowledge of IT Service Management Processes and concepts with special emphasis on Incident and Event management

Experience writing technical documentation.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage work within a team, provide training and technical direction to team members, mentor newly assigned staff.

Demonstrated customer service capabilities and focus.

6 years of experience, may have lead experience

2 years of personnel management experience

5 years of industry experience

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or System Administration

Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent

System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or network related

Working knowledge of, and experience with, JIRA and Confluence

4 years of management experience

6 years of industry experience

Target Salary Range:

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
