CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is growing! We are seeking a Hospital Manager to join CVCA, the leading provider for veterinary cardiac care across the nation.

Description: The Hospital Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations and people management within our fast-paced veterinary hospital. The main responsibilities of the Hospital Manager center around business/P&L management, Human Resources functions, including hiring, staffing, training, performance management, and instituting and maintaining compliance with policies and procedures that ensure safe and efficient practices within the hospital environment.

Responsibilities / Qualifications:

People & Culture Management:

● Perform Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant duties as needed based on the hospital situation, including a strong understanding and oversight of surgical responsibilities in assigned locations where applicable

● Hiring and appropriate staffing of the hospital

● Creating and maintaining a healthy and engaged hospital culture focused on quality medical practices

● Successful management of all aspects of people development including hiring and onboarding of new teammates and continued career development of our valued teammates

● Maintain an effective and engaged work environment by proactively addressing and resolving conflict within the hospital

● Hold teammates accountable for performance and behavior, ensuring all teammates are following all guidelines outlined in the teammate handbook

● Address and document teammate issues following the progressive discipline process and in partnership with your Specialty Operations Director or Area Manager

● Support the needs of the Doctors through coaching and execution of appropriate teammate scheduling, maintaining and appropriate client schedule and coaching the team on opportunities that will improve their skills and efficiency

● Organize and facilitate effective, regularly scheduled meetings with Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) teammates and hospital staff

● Provide effective communication between the team, field leadership/Home Office, and partner hospitals as required

● Oversight of scheduling, workflow and billing associated with any medical studies participated in by your location

Financial Management:

● Meeting and exceeding agreed upon business goals and objectives

● On time delivery of reports and business-related deliverables

● Oversees billing and finance management with associated partner/referral hospitals

● Monitor all financial and operational metrics ensuring deviations are addressed timely and appropriately

● Effective P&L management including appropriate management of Cost of Goods and labor

● Ability to communicate and deliver a message about financial progress and outcomes to multiple audiences (home office and field leadership, DVMs and teammates)

● Review and discuss medical metrics and reporting with the DVM team and field leadership to ensure the highest quality of medicine within the hospital

● Ability to communicate hospital goals and objectives to all teammates in a way that supports both agreed upon business outcomes and hospital culture.

● Manage cost containment including inventory management, cash/banking control, loss prevention, collections of accounts receivable and office and medical supply ordering

● Participate in the financial budgeting process in partnership with field leadership

● Maintain a safe work environment by managing and monitoring all OSHA guidelines, DEA compliance, and all local, state and federal laws (including both medical governance and labor law guidelines)

Client Management:

● Partnership with clients ensuring a positive experience for them and their pets

● Provide leadership to teammates on providing a professional and exceptional client experience

● Proactively addressing client concerns

● Representing the client in the community through participation in local events as needed

● Effectively use resources within the organization and opportunities outside of the organization to build relationships with the community and market the hospital to prospective clients

● Provide leadership to teammates regarding effective client scheduling and communication processes with clients regarding patient scheduling

Requirments:

● High school diploma or equivalent

● Experience recruiting, interviewing and selecting high quality teammates

● Excellent communication skills with demonstrated success tailoring messages to various audiences

● Previous P&L management experience which includes proven success driving results and managing labor costs, desirable but not required

● Conflict management experience

● Experience leading a diverse work force and establishing a positive “can do” team environment

● Experience leading in a customer focused veterinary hospital or retail type environment.

Benefits:

Pay range of $45,000 - $65,000/year based on experience
