Responsibilities:

What will you do?

The Medical Secretary is responsible for administrative support that includes clinical patient scheduling, appointments, confidential records, and filing.

Coordinates activities and provides secretarial support for a multi-faceted clinical office to ensure a smoothly functioning office and good patient relations.

Interacts with patients, patients’ families, referring physicians and third party carriers with regard to patient-related issues.

Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.

Qualifications:

High School diploma; two or more years of experience in a health care environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 & CPT coding.

Knowledge of medical terminology and customer/patient service experience.

Organizational and problem solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Pay Range:

USD $17.06 - USD $25.59 /Yr.
