Job Description
Salary: Estimated $40k - $55k anually
A Production Mig Welder works with a variety of materials to fabricate new parts, equipment, construction elements, and much more. Skillful handling of many types of metal as well as numerous fabrication tools are an essential part of the opportunities you would find while working with us. An ideal welder like you will work steadily on your own with minimal supervision and will often work in a team environment as well.
GENERAL DUTIES
Read blueprints and drawings
Take and read measurements
Always follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Plan layouts and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or machinery to be used
Set up components for welding
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Report damages on machines and equipment
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in MIG welding mild-steel, 16g to 1/2 inch in thickness
A working knowledge of basic hand tools
Reliability, hardworking, and a desire to learn
Ability to read prints and drawings
Must be able to read a tape measure down to 1/32” (applicant will be tested)
Strong math skills (able to convert decimals to fractions, applicant will be tested)
Must be able to lift 75lbs
Safe operation of warehouse equipment
Able to pass background/drug screening
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years MIG welding experience
A weld-test is a mandatory part of the application process for this position. Applicants are required to provide their own welding-hood and any other tools in order to complete their weld-test.
