The Quality Compliance and Testing Specialist plays a pivotal role in Lazarus Naturals’ mission to provide our customers with the highest quality CBD products available. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible for assisting with the implementation and management of quality initiatives at multiple facilities. This candidate will collaborate with team members throughout the organization to ensure regulatory compliance, product safety, and implementation of best-practices.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Support the food safety and certification initiatives for the company

Develop, refine and audit procedures and policies related to food safety and production quality

Develop training and effectively communicate food safety policies

Assist in preparation for third-party, regulatory and customer audits

Support the development of SOPs, eSOPs, SSOPs, and QRFs, for all departments

Collaborate with Formulations and R&D departments to develop and update master BPRs

Maintain document control, revision history and organization for all Quality, Sanitation, Packaging, and Shipping SOPs, specifications, and logs

Manage testing of formulations and finished products, including preparing samples, submitting for third-party testing, tracking and reporting results

Generate customer facing COAs and manage document organization

Respond effectively to out-of-specification or non-compliance issues to ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality

Assists the Quality Manager in managing the CAPA program, including owning relevant improvement activities

Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to improve processes, efficiency, and product quality

Maintain a safe working environment and keeping work area clean and orderly at all times

Maintain the training matrix and organize training documents as needed

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

BS in chemistry, biology or related field preferred

1-3 years experience developing SOPs in a food, dietary supplement, or similar manufacturing environment

Clear understanding of THC regulations

Excellent analytical math skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills, and demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast paced environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and G-Suite applications

Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of a growing organization
