Connection has an exciting opportunity for a contract Field Technician. Right now, the contract is through the end of July, and has a strong possibility to be extended until the end of the year. This person should be local to the Chicago/Schaumburg, IL area and have a vehicle to occasionally drive to a client office a few times a month. Excellent opportunity for growth and looking for someone to start ASAP!

Responsibilities:

The contract Field Technician will be working for our client, MSC for 'remote' deployment work. This individual will assist users with migrating to new laptop computers, assisting with locating their data, basics of a new device, installing printer drivers, and downloading and installing additionally needed software. They will also troubleshoot bascic end user issues on various software applications as well as the hardware and provide basic desktop support while delivering excellent customer service. All other unresolved issues will be escalated to the proper support team.

Qualifications:

3+ years of desktop support experience.

A+ Certification (or equivalent) highly preferred.

Ability to work independently.

Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Proficient with troubleshooting all Windows Operating systems

Ability to follow process and procedures provided.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve email issues, specifically MS Outlook

Support commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment

Support back office hardware, printers, software, Web Applications and other networks.

Customer oriented with good listening skills with ability to receive information completely and address their concerns

Ability to exercises patience and professionalism assisting users.

Outstanding customer skills, with the ability to empathize and professionally troubleshoot and resolve customer’s issues.

Good phone skills with ability to provide technical support over the phone in a professional manner

Interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization
