Description:
The Fabrication Manager position is responsible for supervision and training of fabrication personnel to include the manufacture and quality control of all equipment, parts orders, work orders and equipment process instruction implementation.
This position will coordinate with welders and fabricators on projects, supervising the progress of the welding and fabrication operations, and ensuring the safety of all workers
Setting the schedule and keeping the shop moving
Associates need to know what is expected of them to get accomplished every day
Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and meet calibration specifications
Keep records and maintain orderly environment to align with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices, and standard operating procedures
Work from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment
Responsible for supervising and leading the activities of fabrication shop personnel
Utilize proprietary software to list, schedule, and quote fabrication projects
Provide both technical leadership and assist in training less expert machinists
Requirements:
Familiarity with welding and fabrication
Must have a valid drivers license
Knowledge of welding techniques, (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, and TIG)
Hands on experience and training on pre and post heating, surface hardening, and Weld Inspections
Ability to read prints and illustrate detailed knowledge of pipe fitting procedures and skills
Must have good problem-solving abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with individual contributors, teams, peers, and leadership
