Solar Drafting Engineer

Specific knowledge of solar plant components is required.

Experience preparing all types of layouts related to PV solar projects.

designing medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems.

Prepare engineering drawings and documents to suit to project schedule.

Ensure engineering deliverables with high quality as per departmental operating procedure and guidelines.

Use custom software tools to design ground-mounted PV system layouts

Detailed knowledge of solar system design, and different configuration and optimization methodologies

Perform accurate system sizing calculations

Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for electric systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software

Generate construction drawing packages/sketches/as-builts using CAD software

Create general arrangement drawings, section, elevation drawings and construction details

Maintain drawing templates and libraries.

Compile equipment documentation and specification sheets to submit to customers

Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the successful completion of projects

Computer literate with good knowledge of MS-office & expertise in AutoCAD and Google earth.

Familiar in PV Case, PV CAD, Helios 3D, Google SketchUp for shading scene analysis.

Familiar with Engineering standards – IS, IEC,EN, BS, IEEE/ANSI, NEC, and NFC & etc. and, Safety regulations, Utility standards & etc.

Prepare PV plant related Array layout, Cable routing layout, equipment layout, Earthing, Lightning protection, & etc.

Design & Drafting of Equipment layouts, SLD/Schemes, General Arrangements (GA) of Substations.

Good Knowledge on preparation of quantity estimation and BOM.

of Sizing/selection of PV module, SCB, Transformer, Inverter, MV/LV switchgear/CRP Panel, Cable, Bus Bar/Duct, DG, UPS, Battery/Battery charger etc.

of Calculation of Cable sizing, system Fault current, Power loss, Earthing, Lightning protection system, Lighting/Illumination system.

of Manufacturers/Vendor/Subcontractors Drawings & Documentations.

Strong understanding of general math, trigonometry, and geometry

General understanding of both electrical and mechanical concepts

Knowledge of drafting symbols and abbreviations.
