BDR is seeking an InterSystems Ensemble/IRIS Developer to join our growing team! This position will be performed virtually from the individual's home office working on EST time schedule with very limited travel (10-20%) as needed. This position requires US Citizenship with a Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.

Role Overview:

BDR is actively seeking a highly skilled InterSystems Ensemble/IRIS Developer for one of our projects with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The candidate should have extensive experience in InterSystems IRIS development, preferably in a healthcare context. This role involves detailed IRIS programming, SQL query construction, Object-Oriented Programming, documentation, and IRIS system administration, with a focus on supporting VA-specific software applications.

Responsibilities:

IRIS and SQL Development:

Execute complex IRIS coding tasks.

Develop and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.

Apply Object-Oriented Programming principles in development processes.

Validate and enhance data integration reports to support VA software functionalities.

Ensure accurate load and integration of Caché/IRIS Objects, SQL Tables, and other data structures across various regions, adhering to VistA or Data Syndication data standards.

Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed documentation for software applications developed for the VA.

Develop procedural and technical manuals aimed at software developers, system administrators, and database architects.

Produce technical documentation that illustrates the architecture and engineering of data centers in relation to the VA projects.

Data Analysis and Management:

Conduct thorough analyses of error logs and trace files to identify and resolve system issues.

Monitor and manage Queue Depth across different services, processes, and operations.

Oversee the addition and modification of Domains in Ensemble Production, ensuring compliance with VA standards.

Validate data flows within Ensemble, utilizing tools like VX130 ClassBuilder.

Regularly update and maintain data mappings across various systems (Cerner to CDW, VistA, Millennium, Cloud Databases) for potential data migrations.

Integrate and map data from multiple sources, focusing on accuracy and minimizing data loss.

Communication and Coordination:

Liaise effectively with both development and user teams to identify and address project risks and requirements.

Demonstrate strong communication skills with a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-Solving and Risk Management:

Monitor and manage data transmission, focusing on message tracking, table count reconciliation, and message retry mechanisms.

Integrate new hardware or software into existing environments with minimal disruption, focusing on risk mitigation.

Handle high-volume environments effectively, showing a strong motivation to drive tasks to completion.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Previous public sector consulting experience, specifically with VA projects.

Minimum 15 years of professional experience in InterSystems IRIS within healthcare settings.

Proven experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation and familiarity with VA legacy health data systems.

Expertise in ETL data processes and VistA data handling.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent field.

Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship, U.S. citizenship required.

Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust.

Prior successful experience in remote work settings.

Requirement to provide code samples or GitHub profile link upon application.

In addition, U.S Citizenship is required.
